A Photographer uses digital cameras to take photographs for news organizations, commercial or individual clients. May specialize in photographing people, places and landscapes, or objects. Uses software for processing and editing photographs, and may also use traditional film cameras and film processing.  Creates portfolios of work to exhibit or sell.

Photographer

Image editing encompasses the processes of altering images, whether they are digital photographs, traditional photo-chemical photographs, or illustrations. Traditional analog image editing is known as photo retouching, using tools such as an airbrush to modify photographs or editing illustrations with any traditional art medium. Graphic software programs, which can be broadly grouped into vector graphics editors, raster graphics editors, and 3D modelers, are the primary tools with which a user may manipulate, enhance, and transform images. Many image editing programs are also used to render or create computer art from scratch.

Photo Retouching

Capture One is a photo editing software, developed by Phase One. In addition to image editing it performs image cataloguing, raw image file processing, and tethered photography. Capture One works with raw files from many different digital cameras as well as TIFF, PSD and JPEG image files.
As of summer 2020, capture one has become its own company free standing from Phase One.

The term composition means "putting together". It can be thought of as the organization of the elements of art according to the principles of art. Composition can apply to any work of art, from music through writing and into photography, that is arranged using conscious thought.

Visual Composition

Adobe Lightroom is a creative image organization and image manipulation software developed by Adobe Inc. as part of the Creative Cloud subscription family. It is supported on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and tvOS. Its primary uses include importing/saving, viewing, organizing, tagging, editing, and sharing large numbers of digital images. Lightroom's editing functions include white balance, tone, presence, tone curve, HSL, color grading, detail, lens corrections, and calibration manipulation, as well as transformation, spot removal, red eye correction, graduated filters, radial filters, and adjustment brushing.

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom

Final Cut Pro is a series of non-linear video editing software programs first developed by Macromedia Inc. and later Apple Inc. The most recent version, Final Cut Pro 10.5.1, runs on Mac computers powered by macOS Catalina 10.15.6 or later. The software allows users to log and transfer video onto a hard drive, where it can be edited, processed, and output to a wide variety of formats. The fully rewritten Final Cut Pro X was introduced by Apple in 2011, with the last version of the legacy Final Cut Pro being version 7.0.3.
